War in Yemen

The country remains divided between the recognised government and the Houthis, and since August 2026 fighting has again spread across many fronts.

The 2026 humanitarian plan covers 22 million people in need and 5.2 million internally displaced people. According to UNHCR, more than 130,000 people have fled their homes since early September 2026, mostly in Taiz governorate, with fighting also in Al Jawf, Marib, Hudaydah and on the western coast. More than 3,000 Yemenis have reached Djibouti.
