Lebanon has become one of the fronts of the Middle East war, and Israeli airstrikes and ground operations since March 2026 have driven more than a million people from their homes.

Since 2 March 2026, 3,412 people have been killed and more than 10,000 injured. Of more than a million displaced, about 860,000 have returned, but in August 2026 about 350,000 were still away from home, and successive ceasefire agreements have not held. The 639.9 million US dollar inter-agency Flash Appeal was 48 percent funded.
