In the Far North, attacks by armed non-state actors and cross-border incursions from the Lake Chad Basin continue, while a crisis in the North-West and South-West regions restricts humanitarian access.

According to OCHA, 2.9 million people need assistance in 2026, including 1.5 million children, and the plan targets 1.9 million. By mid-May 2026 the 322 million US dollar plan was 20 percent funded and aid had reached 172,000 people. Cameroon hosts a total of 2.1 million forcibly displaced people. MSF supports surgery for the wounded at hospitals in Mora and Maroua.
