Refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh in Armenia
After Azerbaijan took control of Nagorno-Karabakh in September 2023, more than 100,000 ethnic Armenians moved to Armenia, where more than 115,000 residents of Karabakh have been registered.
Open on the interactive globeAccording to the International Crisis Group, rent subsidies ended in June 2025 and reduced social assistance for about 45,000 of the most vulnerable was due to end in January 2026; about 16,000 refugees have left Armenia. By 13 August 2026, 7,743 families (31,845 people) had received housing certificates, of whom 4,146 families had used them. Integration and psychosocial support is provided by organisations including the Armenian Red Cross and UNHCR.
