Mamirauá Sustainable Development Institute (IDSM)

The Tefé-based Mamirauá Institute carries out research and conservation in the middle Solimões region, including long-term monitoring of Amazon river dolphins and tucuxis. In 2023 it coordinated the response to the mass dolphin deaths in Lake Tefé, and since 2026 it runs the 'Amazon Sentinel Lakes' sensor network.
